(Ready for more kids and family fun? Sesame Street comes to Netflix later this year!)

What’s World of Peppa Pig about?

World of Peppa Pig is a kid-safe mobile game that centers on the eponymous 4-year old piglet, who lives with her family in the charming British burg of Peppatown, among talking giraffes, rabbits, sheep, zebra, and all manner of other animals. The series was created in 2004 by Neville Astley and Mark Baker, and in the last two decades has racked up almost 400 episodes and picked up a bunch of BAFTA awards for Best Pre-School Animation along the way.

Peppa’s slice-of-life vignettes chronicle typical childhood days: proper jump form and state of mind for mud puddles, using a plastic dinosaur as an impromptu carafe at a tea party, and birthday outings. Or teaching a grandparent how to use a computer. Y’know: the usual. The key thing here is that along the way, the show gently introduces concepts like social skills, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and the importance of good manners.

If you’re new to Peppa’s world, it’s a genuinely calm and wholesome universe regardless of your age. That’s not to say there aren’t reasons for parents, specifically, to watch: Talking animals with British accents are inherently charming, and the dry humor will catch you off-guard with genuine laughs when you least expect them.

The mobile game is all that and more, giving kids a way to interact with their favorite characters in familiar settings. Your preschooler can help build toys for little brother George, grow a garden with Grandpa Pig, make cakes with Mummy Pig, and mix smoothies for Candy Cat — from anywhere.

What kind of game is World of Peppa Pig?

World of Peppa Pig is an interactive collection of mini-games and videos with a heavy emphasis on teaching kids valuable life skills like puzzle-solving, memory, counting, object recognition, and matching patterns. Think of it as your destination to help bolster your child’s cognitive and motor skills, via play. The game features activities like jigsaw puzzles, drawing by numbers, and sorting clothes. Adjustable difficulty levels make it easy to tailor the game’s challenges to your tot.

The game also offers creative activities such as sing-alongs, playing dress-up, coloring, painting, and drawing. Your little one can even make their own scenes from the show using backgrounds, stickers, and characters to create their perfect digital diorama.

World of Peppa Pig offers passive entertainment for when it’s time to wind down, too. There are nursery rhymes, read-along stories, full episodes, exclusive clips, and regular content updates to keep things fresh throughout the year.

What activities are in World of Peppa Pig?

The World of Peppa Pig’s activities break down into four categories: Play and Learn, Playground, Create, and Watch.

  • Play and Learn: This category includes 28 diverse activities aimed at teaching preschoolers through card-matching memory exercises, counting stars, drawing constellations by number, bus driving simulations, laundry sorting, and lessons on good dental hygiene.

  • Playground: The 11 Playground activities are more focused on fun than they are education. That’s not to say skill exercises like finding hidden objects in the Grand Canyon or matching food shapes to their silhouettes at the dinner table won’t help with cognitive development. Kids will also help throw parties and play with guinea pigs, teaching them about collaboration and responsibility, and even put together jigsaw puzzles with animal astronauts.

  • Create: A mind needs to relax and explore without goals, too. The Create category activities are, as you might expect, curated with only one idea in mind: fostering creative expression.

  • Digital coloring book: Pick from a trio of different drawings to color in, or your kids can use a blank page to create whatever their imagination can conjure up and add stickers for even more embellishment.

  • Dress-up: Ever seen a tiny pig in a fedora? Well, with World of Peppa Pig, your kid might just show you something you’ve never seen before. There are half a dozen different scenes to choose from.
