Unlocked Galaxy S21 FE gets September 2024 security update in USA

Yesterday, Samsung released an update to the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy S21 FE for the United States which offered the September 2024 security patch that fixes 67 security vulnerabilities. Today, the tech giant is rolling out the same security update to the carrier-unlocked version of the smartphone for the US (SM-G990U1).

The new software update has firmware version G990U1UESCGXH2. At the moment, it is available for devices on AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, C-Spire, Cellular South, Comcast, Cricket, DISH, MetroPCS, T-Mobile, Tracfone, US Cellular, and Xfinity Mobile. Samsung should make it available for other variants of the Galaxy S21 FE soon.

You can get the update by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install or downloading it from our database and installing manually using Odin.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE with Android 12-based One UI 4.X, and promised to offer four new versions of the OS to it. The brand has already released two of them with the device currently running on Android 14-based One UI 6.1. That means it is eligible to get the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 that Samsung is developing.
