Block Blast! has taken the mobile gaming world by storm this year.
It has become the top download on Apple devices this year and snagged second place on Android devices, trailing only behind the colossal hit Roblox, as per stats from singular.net. The game’s easy to get the hang of – just align blocks to zap them away. But to tally up a truly towering score, it takes more than haphazardly shuffling blocks around.
Reddit user No-Engineer7379 dropped some pro tips for scoring big in the game, boasting a personal best of 77,000 – quite the feat, though still a stretch from the staggering world record of 828,267,544.

Mastering combos is key
Combos are the best way to amass a sky-high score. They are achieved by wiping out several lines or rows in one go. No-Engineer7379 advises: “Always try to build your combo.”
They elaborate on the strategic depth of Block Blast!, saying, “I feel like people don’t realise you actually have to think in this game. Takes me a while to place even the three blocks I get because I neeed to hold my combo or else I lose..”
No-Engineer7379 also suggests clearing a line with every third block in a combo, explaining: “This way you can visually see the blocks you have and be able to use two of them before making a line.”
Think carefully about where you place your blocks
No-Engineer7379 shared that the secret to success lies in taking time to strategically plan block placement. They advised: “It takes me at least two minutes to think about where I will put my blocks before placing them when you get above 20K. Don’t let it stun you from playing though, it’s not too bad.”
Practice makes perfect
“The higher score you get, the higher you can get,” No-Engineer7379 said. “You cannot just score 100k on one try.
“At first my best was 6k, then 9k, then 14k, then 22k, then 77k. As you can see it gets easier to score higher the more you practice.”
