The game’s appeal lies in its simplicity – players just match blocks to clear them. However, those aiming for sky-high scores must strategize beyond simply filling up the closest empty spot.
One avid gamer, Reddit’s No-Engineer7379, dished out advice for scoring big in Block Blast! Boasting a personal best of 77,000 points, which is quite laudable, they acknowledged it’s nowhere close to the stratospheric world record of over 828 million, reports the Mirror.

Combos are crucial
Mastering combos is essential for blockbuster scores, achieved by simultaneously clearing multiple lines or rows. No-Engineer7379 advises: “Always try to build your combo.”
They believe many players overlook the strategic element, saying: “I feel like people don’t realise you actually have to think in this game. Takes me a while to place even the three blocks I get because I need to hold my combo or else I lose…”
To maintain a combo streak, No-Engineer7379 suggests always completing a line with the third block placed, explaining, “This way you can visually see the blocks you have and be able to use two of them before making a line.”
Ponder on the placement of each block
No-Engineer7379 swears by the strategy of taking a thoughtful pause before placing blocks, which they believe is crucial for triumph in the game.
They shared: “It takes me at least two minutes to think about where I will put my blocks before placing them when you get above 20K. Don’t let it stun you from playing though, it’s not too bad.”
Practice makes perfect
The mantra ‘practice makes perfect’ couldn’t be more true according to No-Engineer7379. “The higher score you get, the higher you can get,” No-Engineer7379 explained. “You cannot just score 100k on one try.”
They recounted their own journey of improvement: “At first my best was 6k, then 9k, then 14k, then 22k, then 77k. As you can see it gets easier to score higher the more you practice.”
