Space Marine 2 Streamer Is Playing The Game With A Ring Fit

Key Takeaways

  • One Warhammer streamer has been playing through Space Marine 2 using a Ring Fit, turning the game from a power fantasy into one helluva workout.
  • It’s surprisingly easy to set up, so you can give it a try for yourself if you really want to. All you need is Bluetooth, a third-party driver, and the Ring Fit iself.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 isn’t that difficult of a game. It’s mostly power fantasy, handing you a giant chainsword and a ridiculous horde of bugs to tear through. Hook up a Nintendo Ring Fit, however, and it goes from guts and glory to one helluva workout.

That’s what YouTuber Hellstorm Wargaming did, using a third-party driver to turn their Ring Fit into an Xbox Controller. They had to jog on the spot during their entire playthrough to move Titus, and by the one and a half hour mark, they were so tired that they fell off a bridge without any obstacles. But the stream went on for another hour as they pushed forward, refusing to give up.

I can’t concentrate anymore, I’m so tired […] I’m just tired, and that’s okay. I think I’m very brave for saying it out loud.

Hellstorm even used the Ring Fit in the competitive PvP mode, but it was so “awful” that they called it a day with their one kill, rightfully proud given the giant ungainly wheel they had to frantically spin around; “I think that’s it, I think that’s it for Ring Fit adventure of Space Marine 2, oh my god I’m so tired. I’m so tired”.

You Can Do This For Yourself If You Really Want To

If you want to play through Space Marine 2 with a Ring Fit for yourself, it’s surprisingly easy to set up. All you need to do is download the Ringcon Driver which converts the inputs into that of an Xbox 360 controller.

You can then connect the two Joy-Cons needed to use the peripheral via Bluetooth (they each appear separately), and leave the driver running in the background. With that done, attach one Joy-Con to your Ring Fit, and the other to your leg with the strap.
