A devastating fire that broke out in the early hours of Wednesday, May 21, has shaken the community of Malolos, Bulacan, after claiming the lives of four members of a single family.
The tragic incident, which occurred in Sitio Langgam, Barangay Bulihan, was reported by local news outlets including GMA Integrated News and has since made headlines on social media.

According to the reports, the victims were the parents and their two children, with a fifth family member, their 15-year-old child, who survived the huge blaze but sustained some injuries.
In a report by PhilStar, the victims were identified as Philip, 49; Maricel, 49; Felice, 18; and Julienne, 10, much to the sadness of the local community in the area, as well as netizens.

Manuel Lukban Jr., a disaster officer, stated that the fire erupted at approximately 3:40 AM.
Initial investigations suggest the family may have been asleep when the fire began, leaving little time to escape the rapidly spreading flames in their house which eventually took their lives.
The matriarch, Maricel, was a teacher who at Molina Montessori and Bulihan Elementary School.
Following the tragedy, many of her colleagues and students paid tribute to her memory.
In a heartfelt message shared by the Manila Bulletin, she was remembered with deep affection and respect by her colleagues and students: “We will forever cherish the moments we shared and the lessons she so gracefully imparted. Your light continues to shine in the lives you’ve touched.”
However, this is not the first time that fire-related incidents have stirred buzz in local media.
Earlier, tragedy also struck in Purok Lison, Barangay 1, Bacolod City on early Monday morning, May 20, when a fire claimed the lives of two young siblings and even injured their grandfather.
