New products have a common point of providing ‘On-Device AI’ that supports AI operations without having to connect to the Internet.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 1st that it will sell the “Galaxy Book 5 Pro,” which was unveiled last month, starting on the 2nd. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro is equipped with ‘Galaxy AI’, Samsung Electronics’ on-device AI function. The main function is ‘AI Select’, and the monitor can be manipulated by hand as if using a smartphone. It is also possible to search for images. You can quickly search by drawing or dragging a circle with your finger on the monitor without entering a separate search word.

Samsung Electronics announced that it will provide ‘MS Office Home 2024’ that will increase academic efficiency to customers who purchased ‘Galaxy Book 5 Pro’ as well as ‘Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360’ from the 2nd to the 16th. LG Electronics will showcase its 2025 LG Gram lineup at the world’s largest home appliance and information technology (IT) exhibition ‘CES 2025’ on the 7th. The 2025 LG Gram features a “multi-AI” function that allows you to freely choose on-device AI and cloud AI solutions as needed. Unlike Samsung Electronics manufacturing its own tablet PCs and smartphones, LG Electronics does not produce separate smart devices, allowing users to choose various AI environments.

‘Gram Chat Cloud’, a cloud-type AI, solves high-dimensional problems based on open AI’s large language model ‘GPT-4o’. Customers who purchase a 2025 LG gram can use the Gram Chat cloud for free for one year. The usage fee to be applied later has not yet been determined.
Meanwhile, Apple started installing its own AI function, Apple Intelligence, in the operating system (OS) “Sequire 15.1” of the laptop PC MacBook, which was released in October last year.
