Ruru recalled that he was around 14 or 15 years old when he began courting the ‘Kapuso Drama Princess.’
Though they didn’t become a couple, Ruru and Barbie eventually developed a strong friendship, as did their respective partners, Bianca Umali and Jak Roberto.

In relation to this viral showbiz news, a clip from the same morning show had circulated, showing Ruru Madrid and Jon Lucas as they distributed aid to flood-affected residents. During the segment, they spoke with an elderly man who was about to receive a television. Ruru asked if he had watched ‘Black Rider,’ but the man replied that although he’d seen the beginning, his true idol was Coco Martin. Ruru and Jon reacted with a laugh at the man’s candid response.
