Rabin Angeles apologizes over ‘ideal girl’ remark

Ang Mutya Ng Section E star Rabin Angeles has issued an apology after comments he made about his “ideal girl” quietly sparked backlash online.

Last April, an interview featuring the actor went viral, drawing criticism from netizens who described his remarks as “misogynistic” and “gender stereotyping.”

“Gusto ko po talaga sa babae, ‘yung simple lang, ayoko ‘yung parang ma-makeup, pabebe, gusto ko ‘yung parang polite po sa lahat ng tao, tapos maka-Diyos gano’n, kahit hindi maganda,” Rabin said in the viral clip.

In a recent interview with TV5’s MJ Marfori, Rabin clarified his previous statement and admitted to fumbling his words, admitting that nerves got the better of him during the said interview.

He went on to say that his intention was to emphasize inner qualities over physical appearance.

Rabin also acknowledged that upon reflection, his earlier words were poorly phrased.
