Pulong, sons take oath

The oath-taking of the Dutertes was led by Associate Justice Jill Rose S. Jaugan-Lo of the Court of Appeals of the Philippines, in the presence of Paolo’s children, his mother, Elizabeth Zimmerman, and a life-size standee of Rodrigo.

In his speech, Pulong said he is grateful for the support of Dabawenyos not only towards him but also towards his family, especially his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte. He also revealed the challenges his family faced, particularly during his father’s administration.

Pulong said that he will continue his faithful service to the public in return for the trust given to him and his family. He promised that in his final term, he will focus on the education, health, and livelihood sectors for the welfare of vulnerable communities.

“I carry not just my name but also a duty – to prove that leadership is earned every day through genuine service,” he said. 

Five members of the Duterte family were proclaimed winners on May 13, 2025 in the local elections.

Based on the canvass report, Rodrigo will be returning as Davao City’s mayor, defeating Karlo Nograles and Bishop Rod Cubos.

Sebastian “Baste” Duterte was proclaimed the city’s vice mayor, winning the position by defeating Bernie Al-ag and Oyie Barcena.

Pulong was declared the First District representative, defeating Atty. Margarita “Migs” Nograles and Mags Maglana. Rigo was proclaimed the top councilor across all three districts. He will be serving as a First District councilor.

Omar was proclaimed Second District representative, defeating Javi Garcia Campos and Melogen Montesclaros. The councilors who were proclaimed were from Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod (HTL). RGP
