“Mahal ka ng mga Pilipino, Tatay Rody. Sa edad mo at kalagayan, you don’t deserve to be away from your family, from your country. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nagdadasal!” he said.

(You are loved by the Filipinos, Tatay Rody. With your age and situation, you don’t deserve to be away from your family, from your country. Thank you, everyone, for your prayers.)

Duterte said that he hopes the people will not get tired of praying for his father. He added that just like FPRRD, he has also sacrificed his life.

He said that with FPRRD’s age, it is only right that he is brought back to the Philippines so that he can feel how to live as a senior citizen.

He also thanked their supporters for their continuous support and love for their father, seeing it as a huge “utang na loob” (debt of gratitude) from them.

FPRRD is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands, facing allegations of crimes against humanity related to his war on drugs during his administration. He was arrested on March 11 by the International Criminal Court (ICC)..

Earlier, five members of the Duterte family were proclaimed winners on May 13, 2025 in the local elections.
