Oxfordshire cat sitters named among best in the UK
Mark Mentiply, owner of The Cat Butler Oxford, and Sam Heggie, owner of The Cat Butler Thame, have been recognised as one of the UK’s top franchises in the Elite Franchise Top 100 (EF100).
This list ranks the very best franchises in the UK and the Oxfordshire business was the only cat care service to make the list.
Launched in June 2022 by Mark after giving up a career in sales, Sam followed suit in July 2023 having worked in PR locally for over 30 years.

“It’s humbling to be recognised for doing something you love,” said Mark.
“It’s a real pleasure to visit all the lovely furbabies, it’s more than just a job for me.
“Having cats for most of my life, including my current furbaby, Becky, who is 18, it’s a match made in heaven.
“Working with great people, both within the organisation and through the cat charities we support, is amazing, so this recognition leaves me feeling fantastic.”

Sam, who is based in Thame, added: “It’s absolutely pawsome news, and I’m really chuffed that as part of The Cat Butler feline family, we’ve also been recognised for the community work we’re involved in too, particularly with my background supporting nonprofits.
“Our love of cats extends far beyond the services we provide. Being recognised in this way, makes me very proud.”
The Cat Butler actively contributes to its communities by supporting local animal charities and initiatives.
The company’s mission is not just about providing exceptional care for cats but also about making a positive impact in the communities it serves.
This includes supporting The Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary, Four Paws Cat Rescue, and Cats Protection, through various fundraising and awareness activities.
