Ogie Diaz, in his latest Showbiz Update vlog, spoke up about the recent incident involving actor Jake Ejercito and a local vlogger who had filmed Jake’s daughter, Ellie, without her consent.

The veteran talent manager and showbiz commentator backed Jake’s frustration, emphasizing the need to respect personal boundaries—especially when it involves minors and non-celebrities.

“Nag-react itong si Jake Ejercito. Wala kasi siya to defend his daughter na sinamantala yung pagkakataon ng isang vlogger. Kahit ayaw at hindi binibigyan ng consent ni Ellie, nakunan siya nung influencer at nag-iisip si Jake Ejercito na i-demanda ito,” Ogie recounted to their viewers.

In the same vlog, Mama Loi pointed out an important observation: “Hindi naman kasi celebrity o artista si Ellie,” highlighting the fact that Ellie, despite being the daughter of two public figures, is still a minor and a private individual who is not part of the showbiz limelight in any way.

Ogie agreed, expressing his concern: “Paminsan ano, yung ibang vloggers, lumalampas sa ulo. Talagang parang ang feeling nila eh umangat yung views. Nananahimik yung bata, hindi naman artista, ayaw naman talaga niyang magpakuha, wala ka namang consent, ilalabas mo. Jusko.”

Drawing from his own experience as a content creator, Ogie shared how he always respects the requests of interviewees, even after filming is done: “Eh ako nga, marami na akong ganyan. After the interview, ilalabas ko na, biglang, ‘Ogs, baka pwedeng wag mo na ilabas’ or ‘Ogs, baka pwedeng pakitanggal itong part na ito? Nadulas lang ako.’ Ako naman, eh syempre, ibigay, eh di okay.”

He concluded his statement with a crucial note: “Mag-ingat po tayo, lalo na yun mga vloggers, hindi lahat ng pagkakataon, porket may camera tayo o platform, lahat eh kaya na nating kunan.”
