Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders live: stock still rolling in the UK while the US waits for updates

US Switch 2 pre-order stock check-in round two

Most of my posts today have been UK-focused, but that’s not for lack of trying. Unfortunately, like last week, it’s been pretty quiet in the US when it comes to Switch 2 pre-order stock.

If you already have your Switch 2 order in the bag, trying to get hold of everything from upcoming games, the new Pro Controller, and even extra storage is pretty straightforward. A ton of retailers, from Walmart to Best Buy, still have plenty of Switch 2 accessories available to pre-order in time for June 5, 2025, but it’s completely quiet when it comes to the console itself.

Don’t give in to despair, though! Remember that Best Buy and GameStop have confirmed that they will be stocking the upcoming handheld at launch, and the latter will be opening its stores for an old-school style midnight release. In the meantime, I’ll be continuing to hunt down any remaining stock.

If you’d prefer to get your Nintendo Switch 2 directly from Ninty, those of you in the UK can again, as more stock just dropped!

Both the standard Switch 2 and the Mario Kart World Switch 2 bundle are available to pre-order on the UK version of the site. However remember, you will need to be logged into your Nintendo Account to get one!

It’s been Switch 2 pre-order stock galore today. Well, if you’re based in the UK at least. (Sorry, US friends.)

Another retailer that still has some handhelds available is ShopTo, which is selling an exclusive bundle featuring the standard console, an extra pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers, and the official Switch 2 camera.

Remember, if you just want the console, you can grab the standard Nintendo Switch 2 right now for £395.99 at Very and save some extra cash. But this ShopTo collection of Ninty goodness is for those of you who have extra cash to spare, and were planning on grabbing more Joy-Cons and the Switch 2 camera at some point anyway!

The stunning Switch 2 GameCube controller is still available

The Nintendo GameCube is still one of my favorite consoles to this day, and I’m fortunate enough to still have my glorious purple cube and its original controllers. But that didn’t stop me from pre-ordering the brand-new Switch 2 GameCube gamepad on the Nintendo online store.

This new iteration of the classic controller looks almost identical to its original counterpart, but now it’s wireless, and sports both the new GameChat button and a game capture button so you can still screenshot your favorite gaming moments.

Sadly, in the US, the controller is sold out, so you’ll have to wait for the next re-stock to grab yours. But if it’s anything like the past NSO gamepads, it should arrive back on the store in no-time.

Remember, you do need to be a paying member of Nintendo Switch Online in order to pre-order this controller. But then, you’ll be able to play the upcoming NSO GameCube library of games with a proper dose of controller nostalgia.

You can get 10% off Split Fiction for the Switch 2 right now

The Nintendo Switch isn’t even out yet, and already there’s deals popping up to save you cash on accessories and games like Split Fiction.

At Currys, if you add Split Fiction on the Switch 2 to your basket and copy and paste the coupon ‘SPLIT10’ into the payment section, you’ll get 10% off!

It is worth knowing that this ‘physical’ version of the game just comes with a download code, which is not ideal. Yet, if you want that discount and want the game represented on your new Switch 2 gaming shelf, it’s better than nothing.

Previously, Currys had a similar deal for the Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk 207 this but it sold out pretty quickly. If you’ve had your eyes on Split Fiction, I recommend grabbing this 10% deal fast.

This new Legend of Zelda Switch 2 bundle at Currys is perfect for fans

Currys just dropped a brand-new Nintendo Switch 2 bundle that’s perfect for Zelda fans. For £579, not only do you get the Mario Kart World version of the upcoming handheld, but also copies of the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Edition and the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 Edition – and a carrying case and screen protector set for good measure.

If you’re a die-hard Zelda fan like me, chances are you already own both of these games on the original Switch, so you can just grab the Switch 2 upgrade packs either through Nintendo Switch Online, or elsewhere.

But I know how dead set some Zelda fans are on owning every single copy of the game out there, which makes this bundle ideal for your collection. I already own Breath of the Wild on the Wii and the Switch, but you can bet I’ll be ensuring to grab a boxed Switch 2 copy in the future!

US Nintendo Switch 2 stock check-in – it’s oh so quiet.

Today is a busy day for UK Switch 2 pre-order stock, but sadly, the same cannot be said for the US. As of typing, there are currently no Nintendo Switch 2s available to pre-order on any of the big retailers, but it’s not all doom and gloom.

For one thing, this could easily change in a heartbeat. Over the last few weeks, I’ve been surprised by the influx of Switch 2 stock drops in the UK, so there’s nothing stopping the US from following suit.

Not to mention, retailers Best Buy and GameStop have confirmed that they will be stocking the upcoming handheld at launch, and the latter will be opening its stores for an old-school style midnight release. According to YouTuber Jake Randall, Target is also rumored to be providing Ninty fans with a day-one restock, although they haven’t officially confirmed that for now.

Donkey Kong Bananza isn’t a launch title, but pre-orders are still in stock!

Out of all the upcoming games making their way to the Switch 2, it’s Donkey Kong Bananza that I’m most looking forward to. I’ve been playing Donkey Kong games since Donkey Kong Country on the SNES, so I can’t wait to see what his latest adventure holds – especially as I adore that new re-design!

Unlike actual Switch 2 stock, you can still grab Donkey Kong Bananza in the US at retailers like Walmart, where it’s set to launch on July 17, 2025. Hopefully, on the lead up to release day, there will be plenty of Stock 2 pre-order and purchase opportunities for those of you in the States!

But for now, you can pre-order the game in the US and UK – how a-peel-ing!

Switch 2 pre-orders in stock at Very!

While there’s accessory bundles galore at UK retailers today, there’s plenty of you that would prefer just to grab the standard Nintendo Switch 2, and that’s a-okay!

With stock as busy as it is over here across the pond, you can still pre-order just the standard Switch 2, or the Mario Kart World Bundle, and save the accessories for later.

Currys has not one, not two, but three Switch 2 bundles in stock!

While there’s no standard Switch 2 consoles available to pre-order at Currys, there’s no shortage of bundles featuring an assortment of official Ninty accessories.

Right now, there’s three different bundle variations in total available at the big UK retailer, but what one is right for you just depends on what accessories you want to have from day one. The first bundle comes with the Mario Kart World version of the Switch 2, meaning you get a digital copy of the game from the get-go. Not to mention, it also comes with a second pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers, Joy-Con 2 wheel accessories, and the Switch 2 camera.

If you’re a Street Fighter fan, the next bundle might be more your style. It comes with the new Year 1-2 Fighters Edition Switch 2 version of the game, as well as the new Switch 2 Pro Controller and the Switch 2 camera.

Lastly, the third bundle available also includes a copy of Street Fighter 6 but switches things up to include the Switch 2 camera and a 156GB microSD Express Card for extra storage.

The brand new Switch 2 amiibo figures are still up for grabs

A lot of our posts might be aimed at the UK right now, especially as Switch 2 pre-order stock is unfortunately quiet in the US. However, there’s good news – you can still pre-order amiibos in both the UK and the US!

Well, good news if you’re obsessed with Nintendo merch and unlocking extra content in your favorite games, that is. Right now, both the brand new Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and Street Fighter 6 amiibo figures are still up for grabs, which is surprising given how difficult it has been in the past to get a hold of them.

It’s a brand new day, and UK Switch 2 pre-order stock is still flying!

Mario Kart World

We’re back to help secure you a Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order of your very own, and in the UK that’s fortunately pretty easy to do – if you have the budget for it, that is!

Right now, plenty of UK retailers have Switch 2s available right as I type, including Very, Currys, and ShopTo. All you have to decide is whether or not you want the Mario Kart World bundle, or these exclusively made retailer bundles that throw in extra accessories.

For the latter, if you were going to buy another pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers or a Switch 2 camera anyway, these bundles may be right up your street. However, don’t feel you have to splash out more cash for these, as stock (at least in the UK) is dropping left, right, and center for the standard console and the Mario Kart World bundle too.

EE has stock

EE has finally rejoined the party, with Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders live on the shelves. You can once again grab the Mario Kart World bundle for £429.99 here, with free delivery set for launch day.

Ok, now it looks like Very has run out of Mario Kart World bundle stock

Very has removed the Mario Kart World bundle from its shelves, which generally means it’s done for now. There’s still the handheld by itself up for grabs, though.

Ebuyer has stock!

Ebuyer has the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle in stock right now, with a £429.99 price tag on the package deal. That’s excellent for anyone hunting down cheaper pre-orders right now, considering most retailers are shipping higher-priced bundles.

If you want to experience the full online multiplayer experience right from day one, you’ll need to get yourself a Nintendo Switch 2 Camera. There are third party Hori models, but the official version is a higher quality and, in the US, slightly cheaper. Best Buy has you covered with release day pickup and shipping in time for June 5, meanwhile UK shoppers can head to Very instead.

Will Amazon US have Nintendo Switch 2 stock on launch day?

Mario stomping on a block with Amazon's logo on

Amazon hasn’t had any Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders so far, and doesn’t even list the handheld on its site. You’ll find a few third party games and accessories up for grabs, but otherwise things are pretty barren. Rumor has it, the retailer has fallen out with Nintendo after it repeatedly broke street dates with its pre-order shipping, resulting in a lack of support from Ninty itself. There’s certainly something going on, the retailer had none of the official bundles over Black Friday and its own OG Switch supplies are looking a little awkward in price.

Ultimately, we don’t know if Amazon will offer the Nintendo Switch 2 even on release day. It would make sense for Nintendo to hold back on its limited supplies during the pre-order phase, but once the stock is flowing (and there are no street dates to be broken) it’s likely that handhelds will start to reach these shelves.

Remember, ‘Unavailable’ doesn’t mean much at Very

That Mario Kart World bundle is now listed as ‘currently unavailable’ at Very – but in my experience, that doesn’t mean too much. This site is only done once it removes a listing – if you’re still seeing the package on the site, there’s more stock to come.

The Mario Kart World bundle is back in stock at Very

Very has the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle back on the shelves right now, with the £429.99 price tag holding on strong. Before this, we only had the handheld by itself or higher-priced bundles adding a camera into the mix. This is the best value on the web right now, though.

Where to pre-order Donkey Kong Bananza

Donkey Kong Bananza isn’t exactly a Switch 2 launch title, it’s hitting the shelves on July 17th. However, it is up for pre-order ahead of the handheld’s own launch day. This is a full game card version (not a download), with both Very and Walmart promising release day shipping.

Will Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders return before launch day in the US?

A sad-faced Mario on a blue background

With most US retailers listing the Nintendo Switch 2 as ‘coming soon’, alongside that June 5 launch day, it looks like things are set for the next couple of weeks. I’m certainly not discounting more restocks, but considering the length of time we’ve been in this position, it’s looking more and more unlikely that we’ll see more Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders landing before release.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is still readily available to pre-order in both the US and UK, though some stores have run out of stock. We’re not quite at panic stations yet, though, while Walmart is suspiciously quiet on these accessories, Best Buy is picking up the slack in the US. Meanwhile, Very still has a handsome supply in the UK.

Should you buy higher-priced bundles?

There are a number of Nintendo Switch 2 bundles including additional accessories in the UK right now, and Best Buy looks set to launch its own when more stock becomes available in the US as well. The question remains, though – are they worth it?

I’m only highlighting the bundles that keep everything at MSRP / RRP right here, which means you’re not paying anything over the regular price of everything together. However, there are bundles out there that don’t stick to this rule. Best Buy itself, for example, is planning on selling the Nintendo Switch 2 and Mario Kart World together for more than the regular price of Ninty’s own bundle. There’s certainly things to watch out for.

If you’ve found bundles that do weigh everything up with their full MSRP, they’re well worth a look. If you were planning on buying these accessories right from day one anyway, you’re killing all the birds with one stone and securing yourself an easy pre-order (higher-priced bundles tend to stick around on the shelves for longer). If none of the included games or gadgets appeal, though, there’s no reason to buy them out of necessity. More Nintendo Switch 2 stock will appear.

Will UK retailers be restocking on day one?

That’s the question on everyone’s lips across the pond.

While Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are still looking pretty strong in the UK, we haven’t heard anything from retailers launching day one stock. Smyths Toys, Currys, and Argos are your best bets here, still holding out in physical locations, though with no confirmation of midnight launches so far things could be more limited.

Where to get a Nintendo Switch 2 on launch day

Best Buy and GameStop have both now confirmed that they will be stocking the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch, with the former opening its stores late for a midnight release and the latter promising more handhelds both in-store and online. Target is also rumored to be kicking things off with a day-one restock, according to YouTuber Jake Randall, though this one’s not confirmed yet.

UK stock is still holding on

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are still alive and well in the UK, with Very, Currys, and ShopTo offering pre-orders right now. The cheapest you’ll find on the shelves is Very, with the handheld by itself available for £395.99. However, additional accessories and games can be bundled in both here and at other retailers.
