YouTube star MrBeast is notable for his splashy charity events and fundraising efforts.

Now, a new trademark application from his company Beast Holdings, LLC, could suggest the focus of a new charity project.

The trademark, #TeamWater, was filed on August 29. The filing states that the trademark’s purpose is to promote public awareness of the importance of access to clean water.

Possible goods and services for #TeamWater include “reusable carrying bags, school bags, and athletic bags,” as well as empty water bottles and aluminum water bottles.

The list also includes clothing items sold “solely in connection with the promotion of cleaning the world’s water sources and access to clean water.”

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has led several viral philanthropic projects, including the ocean-conservation project #TeamSeas and the tree-planting initiative #TeamTrees. He grew a following online partly with philanthropic stunts, like giving away large sums of money to strangers. He is now YouTube’s top creator with 317 million subscribers.

In July, Donaldson revealed that #TeamSeas had cleaned up over 34 million pounds of trash from beaches, oceans, and rivers.

For both the #TeamSeas and #TeamTrees projects, he teamed up with YouTuber and engineer Mark Rober, who has 57 million YouTube subscribers.

There have been previous signs of Donaldson’s interest in clean-water initiatives.

In November, Donaldson started a campaign around building wells that provide safe drinking water. His organization, Beast Philanthropy, is currently accepting donations for the campaign, dubbed “Water is Life,” and according to its website, the organization has helped build 100 wells across Cameroon, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

Donaldson’s philanthropy is just one part of his sprawling operation.

Earlier this year, court documents showed that Donaldson expected to earn $700 million in revenue in 2024 from his business empire. His businesses include multiple YouTube channels and merchandise, as well as products like his snack company Feastables and a new food product with the YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI called Lunchly.

A new charity project would come at a fraught time for Donaldson, however. He has recently faced backlash and a lawsuit over conditions during the filming of his upcoming Amazon show.

A spokesperson for MrBeast did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
