Netizens praise Ion Perez’s ‘good decision’ to withdraw from 2025 elections
TV personality Ion Perez announced that he will no longer run for councilor in Concepcion, Tarlac in the 2025 midterm elections.
Ion shared his decision through a video message on TikTok after filing his candidacy just last month, expressing his gratitude to his supporters in his hometown.

“Sa mga kalugar ko diyan sa Concepcion, una po, maraming salamat sa tiwala at suporta niyo na ibinigay sa akin. Pinapaalam ko lang po na hindi na po ako tatakbo o tutuloy bilang konsehal ng Concepcion,” Perez said in his announcement.
Ion explained that he decided to take a step back to better equip himself for public service, “Gusto ko po munang ihanda ang sarili ko para hindi mapahiya sa inyo at mapaglingkuran kayo nang tama.”
In closing, the dancer-host expressed his heartfelt thanks to the people of Concepcion and apologized for his withdrawal, saying, “Muli po, maraming-maraming salamat sa inyong tiwala. Paumanhin po.”
