– National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents recently went to the Office of the Vice President to serve a subpoena for VP Sara Duterte

– In an ambush interview, an NBI agent showed a copy of the subpoena marked received by an official at the OVP

– According to the NBI agent, the subpoena was received by a certain Atty. Ebrole of the OVP today at 12:52 noontime

– The NBI agent also said that Atty Ebrole immediately accepted the subpoena and did not say anything else

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents, in a report by GMA News, recently went to the Office of the Vice President to serve a subpoena for VP Sara Duterte.

In an ambush interview by the media, an unidentified NBI agent presented a copy of the subpoena which was already marked received by a certain Atty. Ebrole of the OVP.

The NBI agent also identified Atty. Ebrole as someone from the legal department of the OVP.

In the document that the NBI agent showed, one can see that it was received by a certain “L. Ebrole” on November 26, 2024 at 12:52 noontime.

The words written on the subpoena also clearly shows what the NBI wanted to happen.

“Under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by Republic Act No 10867, you are hereby commanded to be and appear in the Office of the Director, Bldg. D, 9th Floor, Filinvest Cyberzone Bay City, Diosdado Macapagal Blvd., Pasay City, Philippines, at 9:00am on the 29th day of November, 2024, then and there to give your evidence in a certain investigation to be held at thet time and place conducted by the undersigned,” the document says.

Underneath this paragraph is the reason why the subject of the subpoena is being summoned by the Bureau.

“RE: To shed light on the investigation for alleged Grave Threats under Art 282 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Section 6 of RA 10175 and Possible Violation of RA 11479 (NBI-CCN-C-21-12436).

Fail not, under the penalty of law,” the document stated.

When asked by the media about the reaction of Atty. Ebrole, the NBI agent said he just accepted the subpoena and didn’t say anything.

“Wala namang sinabi. Tinanggap naman,” the NBI agent said.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff of VP Sara Duterte, Atty. Zuleika Lopez, would have to remain in detention a little bit longer. This was after the House Panel investigating matters related to the Office of the Vice President announced it is extending Lopez’s detention to five more days. Earlier, Rep. France Castro of the ACT Teachers party-list, moved to extend Lopez’s detention for allegedly making false statements. VP Sara is questioning the said order, saying it is illegal.
