NANAY Party-list gets congressional seat

The NANAY Party-list, a sectoral group advocating for the rights and welfare of Filipino mothers and families, was among the partylist groups proclaimed by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) on May 19, Monday at the Manila Hotel Tent City.

The Comelec said that NANAY Party-list has secured a seat in the House of Representatives following the results of the May 13, 2025 National and Local Elections.

The Comelec, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, announced the winning party-lists.

NANAY Party-list was among the recognized groups, earning sufficient votes to obtain one congressional seat.

Representing NANAY Party-list is first nominee Nanay Florabel Yatco. She was joined by the group’s second nominee Ananias Canlas during the proclamation.

With a clear advocacy centered on the family unit as the foundation of society, NANAY Party-list said it aims to file measures in Congress that will address maternal health, livelihood opportunities for mothers, and expanded social services.

The group joins other sectoral representatives in the 20th Congress, which will convene on June 30, 2025.
