Most wanted woman in Maayon arrested for cybercrime

A 53-YEAR-OLD woman listed as the third most wanted person in Maayon, Capiz was arrested by the Maayon Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Barangay East Villaflores around 6 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas, commended the local police for their diligence in locating and arresting the accused.

“We encourage all our units across the region to continue our aggressive campaign against wanted persons in close coordination with the community,” he said.

Wanky said the goal is for the remaining outlaws to be held accountable for their crimes.

The suspect, known by the alias Nor, is jobless and a resident of the same barangay. She was arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest for six counts of violation of Republic Act 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. The recommended bail was set at P10,000 for each case.
