Monster Hunter Updates Weapon Stats and Gamers Have Thoughts

Are you ready for some Monster Hunter news? Some therefore went by without the fans really realizing about them. Technically, this new patch brings a very major overhaul to the usage stats for weapons that appear in hunter profiles, which, frankly, has created a split opinion-the almost no side caring.

In Title Update 2, two big changes will be made to the weapon usage stats display on the “Quests Completed” page. First, arena quests, challenge quests, and free challenge quests will no longer count as weapon usage by default. The other, and perhaps of even more importance, is that hunters will finally be able to reset their weapon stats completely. This is Christmas morning for profile aesthetes-another knows you.

The official Twitter account for Monster Hunter described it as a change to make the game more satisfying for those who wish to maintain a carefully crafted hunter profile. And, of course, there’s really no one against this. “Finally, this is a good change,” Scoopy said, while DragonHeartz chimed in with a “Nice, it’s finally here!”

The reaction is a little varied if you scan through the responses; some are truly happy with the change in stats, while others use this opportunity to voice their unsatisfied issues with the game. Capt_Corvus: “Know what’d help me maintain it? Fixing the bug that takes away my handicraft, leaving me with blue sharpness every time I boot the game.”

Shadow_Bolt asked for changes regarding DB: “Can DBs please get the focus strike changed into the MH rise drill, the beyblade just feels so bad to use.” Now GhostBoi261077 starts dreaming of collabs: “CAPCOM PLEASE WHEN YOU DO DMC COLLAB GIVE ME YAMATO(Vergil’s sword) AS A LONG SWORD PPLLEEAAASSSEEEEEEE.”

Then there are a few players complaining about technicalities. Madam_Miko: “What the heck did yall do? Why is my game crashing all the time now?” Olias: “monsters ain’t spawning right since the update.” Not good, Bob.

And funniest response out there: “i skipped all arena quest becuase weapon useage count !!!!!! and now i skip sf6 arena” by arisu_supern0va. Much commitment to profile aesthetes. Now, on the other side, Push Monster got caught in several back-and-forths with other players about, well, it’s quite difficult to follow but it’s probably whether they should play Monster Hunter Stories instead? The adventures of Twitter threads.

The update image itself got some curiosity going, as Ahri questioned if it was a new map location and new Palico equipment. Not a word from Capcom, not confirming, not denying, as usual leaving hunters to speculate wild.

At the end of the day, this is very niche QoL though an update that doesn’t affect most of the casual players. For the Hunter hardcores that regard their profiles as their resumes, however, this goes all the way. Arena quests can now finally stop stressing them about weapon distribution. And just in case they’ve had some suspect weapon usages in the past? Poof- there goes the reset button.

The question everybody is wondering about is if Capcom will start looking at more of the concerns players posed in these replies. Because while it may be nice to reset weapon stats, most hunters will probably trade that away for fixes to bugs and QoL improvements anytime. But hey, baby steps. At least now you can deny the fact that Heavy Bowgun was ever touched by you during your wild experimental phase.
