Mikee Morada reveals wife Alex Gonzaga’s third miscarriage
Actress-vlogger Alex Gonzaga has sadly suffered her third pregnancy loss, as revealed by her husband, politician Mikee Morada in an emotional interview with his sister-in-law Toni Gonzaga.
Toni recently invited her brother-in-law to her YouTube talk show, “Toni Talks”, for a heartfelt conversation about Alex’s third pregnancy loss.
During the interview, Toni candidly asked Mikee if the most recent miscarriage, which he shared occurred in December, was the most painful loss for them.
“Now, itong third one na nangyari nung December, ito ba yung pinakamasakit?” Toni inquired.
Mikee recounted the pregnancy, explaining that it came as a surprise to both him and Alex.
“Kami ni Catherine… nung nalaman naming pregnant siya, kasi feeling namin nabuo ‘to nung birthday ni Mommy Pinty sa Singapore. Hindi namin talaga akalain, wala talaga kaming plano,” he bared.
After discovering Alex was pregnant, the couple promptly sought medical consultation.
“Nung nalaman namin na pregnant kami for the third time, nagpa-check up kami kaagad sa OB and okay naman. Tapos nag-decide kami na mag-iingat na talaga siya. The second week, okay pa yung ultrasound, hanggang dun sa pangatlong linggo eh sabi samin nung doctor, ‘Nako, wala na namang laman. Blighted ovum ulit,’” Mikee recounted.
The couple then decided to seek a second opinion after receiving a message from another OB urging Alex to visit.
“Sakto, nag-text yung iyong OB, parang kinukulit siya, ‘Daan ka naman. Visit ka.’ Siguro, blessing ni Lord, naisip namin na, ‘Sige, pa-second opinion tayo dun.’ The week after, nagpunta kami. Pagdating namin dun sa ultrasound na yun, yun na yung pang-apat. May bata sa loob, may baby,” he said.
The moment they heard their baby’s heartbeat was especially moving for Mikee, even sharing his treasured photo of their unborn child with Toni, “Naiyak ako nung narinig ko yung heartbeat. First time kong nakarinig ng heartbeat.”
However, their joy was short-lived as Mikee shared the devastating turn of events.
“Nalaman namin na mababa yung heartbeat, na 65 lang. So that same day, pumunta kami sa ospital, triny namin habulin, baka ma-save pa yung baby. Ginawa namin lahat,” he said.
“Nung dumating ‘yung December 28, […] nakita na namin ‘yung embryo, ‘yung baby pero wala na siyang heartbeat,” Mikee shared, adding that they had no choice but to accept the sad news.
Toni, visibly emotional, expressed her support for the couple’s courage in sharing their story.
The interview resonated deeply with viewers, with many praising the couple for their strength and resiliency.
“Crying while watching this episode.. lord sana po this 2025 ipagkaloob nyo po sknila ung pinagpray nila na baby,” a user on YouTube commented.
“To Alex and Mikee, I will pray na soon ibibigay ni Lord yung para sa inyo talaga. I am also married for 9 years and we are still trying. Hopefully this year will be year for us and for those na nag aantay na bibigyan din Lord ng blessings. Continue to pray and huwag mawawakan ng pag-asa,” wrote another.
“Let’s all pray for all couples who are struggling to someday be bless by Almight. I pray and hope that mikee and alex will soon have a blessing. This is a testimony of unconditional love,” expressed another netizen.
It can be recalled that Alex happily shared updates about her health in February of last year as she prepared for another attempt at pregnancy.
This comes after she bared her second miscarriage in October 2023 with Toni on the same show. Her first pregnancy loss dates back in October 2021.
