Mayor Pogi opens 6th Puso Center
Outgoing Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. on Wednesday led the opening of the local government’s 6th Puso Center Primary Care Facility in Barangay Anunas on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
Lazatin, who was elected Pampanga First District Congressman in the recent polls, said this is part of his commitment to bring health services closer to the constituents.
“Even as my term comes to a close, my commitment to the health and well-being of every Angeleño remains unwavering. Bringing essential services closer to our communities is not just a promise but also a responsibility I proudly carry until the very last day,” Lazatin said.
The mayor said five primary healthcare facilities were opened in Barangays Pulungbulu, Tabun, Pulung Maragul, Cutud, and Malabanias.
One more facility in Barangay Amsic is set to open on Thursday, May 22.
The remaining two in Barangays Capaya and Balibago are scheduled for inauguration soon.
Lazatin vowed to build nine primary healthcare facilities when he assumed office in 2019.
The incoming Pampanga First District congressman said the city will have a total of 15 rural health centers upon the completion of the three facilities.
The existing primary care centers are located in barangays Pandan, Sto. Domingo, Lourdes Sur East, Lourdes Northwest, Pulung Cacutud, and Balibago.
The newly opened facility in Anunas features a dental clinic, consultation and laboratory rooms, a physician’s office, pantry, storage space, and a pharmacy stocked with essential medicines, ensuring more accessible and comprehensive health services.
The city government also hired additional doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and dental aides to enhance the efficiency and quality of health services offered to the people.
