GMA actor Dennis Trillo’s management, Aguila Entertainment, announced that the actor’s TikTok account, @dennistrilloph, was hacked, clarifying that the comments made about ABS-CBN by the account were not from Trillo.
“We would like to inform the public that Dennis Trillo’s TikTok account was hacked around noontime today, July 1, 2024,” Aguila Entertainment announced through their official Instagram account.
The statement further clarified, “Several comments were made using his name, and we assure everyone that these remarks did not come from Dennis. He is known for his kindness and respect, and these comments are out of character for him.”
This alleged statement was made after a TikTok video on Dennis Trillo’s account went viral due to comments related to ABS-CBN.
One user commented, “Kuya Dennis, sana masagot mo ito bakit wala si Ma’am Jen sa GMA STATION ID at totoo ba na lilipat na siya sa ABS-CBN,” to which Dennis Trillo’s account replied, “May ABS pa ba?”
The user’s comment was related to speculations about Dennis’ wife, Jennylyn Mercado, possibly transferring to ABS-CBN, further fueling the controversy.
The comment was quickly deleted, but many netizens had already seen it, leading to a flood of responses in the video’s comment section.
Dennis’ account also posted several replies, including “Oo eto ulit ooh, may ABS pa baaaaah???”, “Screenshot nyo ulit,” and “Iba ang star records, sa ABS! O abs cbn. Bye mga ngetpa.”
Following this, the comment section on Dennis’ TikTok videos was turned off.
Netizens, especially on Twitter, reacted to the remarks about ABS-CBN. One user commented, “Siguro the old network they used to be doesn’t but ABS is still here and rose from the ashes. If they were so insignificant, why would GMA itself forge a partnership with them?”
Dennis’ PR consultant and Aguila Entertainment general manager, Jan Enriquez, quickly defended the actor, stating, “We are investigating the situation but do know na hindi po si Dennis yun. He is currently taping for Pulang Araw and has limited access to his phone as per his PA…”
Dennis is known for his roles in “My Husband’s Lover,” “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” and “Legal Wives.” Before transferring to GMA, he started his entertainment career at ABS-CBN in 2001 as part of Star Circle Batch 10 alongside Bea Alonzo and Alfred Vargas. He also had a minor role in the ABS-CBN soap opera “Pangako Sa ‘Yo.”
