LeBron James has reportedly seen the massive contract that Gregg Popovich signed and is ready to pay for dinner.

In a Sunday morning tweet, the Los Angeles Lakers forward thanked Popovich for his new contract with the Spurs.

Popovich’s five-year, $80 million contract with the San Antonio Spurs is the richest for a coach in NBA history, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

This deal is a far cry from the six-year contract worth $78.5 million that Monty Williams had signed with the Detroit Pistons in this off-season.

Popovich, with 1,366 victories, is the most successful coach in NBA’s history. Popovich is the longest-tenured American sports coach with 27 seasons. He was also inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame for 2023.

James has been a long-time admirer of Popovich. He calls him the greatest coach NBA History one of his “all-time favorite people.”
