A man lost his left hand after he was hacked by his own sibling-in-law in Tanauan, Leyte.

Based on the investigations, the wives of the victim and the suspect are twin sisters.

According to a report by Julius Babao on TV5’s ‘Frontline Pilipinas,’ all four—the victim, the suspect, and their wives—live together in the same house.

It was said that the suspect often felt jealous of his sibling-in-law, possibly because their wives are twins.

The suspect is still at large and will be charged with frustrated murder.

Twins are formed when either two separate eggs are fertilized by two different sp*rm cells, resulting in fraternal twins, or when a single fertilized egg splits into two embryos, leading to identical twins.

The chances of having twins vary depending on several factors. On average, the likelihood of having twins naturally is about 1 in every 250 pregnancies.

However, certain factors can increase the chances, such as a family history of twins, maternal age (especially women over 30), fertility treatments, and having had multiple pregnancies before.

Fraternal twins are more common than identical twins, and their occurrence can be influenced by genetics and ovulation patterns, while identical twins happen more randomly.
