Krishnah Gravidez grateful for Megan Young’s support

Krishnah Gravidez, representing the Philippines at the Miss World 2024 pageant in India, is immensely grateful to Miss World 2013 Megan Young.

At her send-off party on May 5, 2025, Krishnah revealed that Megan gave her vital tips and encouragement to help her in the competition against over 100 candidates from across the globe.

Aiming to win the Philippines’ second Miss World crown, Krishnah said Megan’s advice has significantly boosted her confidence and equipped her for the challenges of the pageant.

She told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press, “Megan was a huge help. I felt like our conversation guided me and gave me life for this journey.

“She’s been very supportive and very sweet.”

Krishnah expressed her appreciation for Megan’s genuine care, adding that she is thrilled whenever Megan checks in on her.

“Actually, I get butterflies every time she messages me randomly,” Krishnah said.

“She was like, ‘Hi Krishna, how are you? I was thinking about how was your preparation. I’m really excited to see your intro video, your Beautiful With A Purpose video.’

“She’s very sweet and very kind. And I feel like that’s something that I want also to be inspired.”

KRISHNAH GRAVIDEZ ON MEETING MEGAN YOUNG

Krishnah first met Megan in person back in January.

Expressing her awe, Krishnah posted on Instagram and wrote in the caption, published as is: “The world will forever be enchanted by your beautiful spirit. [Heart emoji]

“Thank you to the warmest, sweetest, and coolest person ever for a wonderful time and all the invaluable lessons! @meganbata [emoji] …and for introducing Soba and Chia! [emoji]

“P.S. I keep pinching myself, thinking this was a dream. [emoji]”

Asked about how their meeting came to be, Krishnah admitted that she took the initiative by messaging Megan.

She expressed gratitude for the time Megan shared with her.

“We had a very, very sweet day. I approached her right after I was crowned as Miss World.

“And then, I asked her if she could have some time with me so we can just bond and just talk.”

Krishnah further shared that upon their first meeting, she arrived with numerous questions, eager to gather every detail to support her pageant preparations.

“A few months ago, I met her. I think I posted it online… I think you saw it, and it was just a very casual day…

“We talked a lot about the competition. Actually, I prepared a lot of questions prior to our meeting.

“I listed a lot of questions so that walang ma-miss…”

She continued, “During our talk, I made sure that each fast-track challenge, bawat detail, nagtanong talaga ako sa kanya so that I can bring a lot of, you know, baon from her.

“And then, one by one she gave me advice.”

MEGAN YOUNG’S ADVICE

While Megan did share valuable technical tips with Krishnah for her Miss World journey, the lesson Krishnah will always hold dear from Megan is the importance of authenticity and learning to filter out the noise.

Krishnah said, “Overall, what she told me was don’t be afraid to be yourself.

“Don’t be afraid to show who you truly are because sometimes people have a tendency to box you and place you in a certain standard, in a certain prototype.”

Krishnah added, “What she told me was even though the world seems like that, you should never be afraid to embrace yourself, to embrace who you are.

“And you should never forget your values as a person.”

Their meeting, along with Megan’s generosity in sharing her wisdom, made Krishnah admire her even more.

Krishnah said, “At first, Megan was one of my inspirations but when I had the chance to go and just talk to her personally face-to-face that sealed my admiration for her.

“Megan Young is such a genuine and humble person and I feel like every beauty queen aspirant should emanate that.”

When asked about her message for Megan, Krishnah expressed her gratitude.

“If Megan is listening right now, thank you so much, Queen. Thank you so much for being so supportive.”
