Kim Chiu is a Filipino actress, television host, singer, and model who rose to fame after winning the first season of Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition in 2006. She is known as ‘Chinita Princess’ in local show business. Following her PBB victory, Kim became one of ABS-CBN’s top stars, starring in hit teleseryes like Sana Maulit Muli, My Girl, Ina, Kapatid, Anak, and Love Thy Woman. Aside from acting, she is also a regular host on It’s Showtime.

Kim Chiu took to social media to greet Darren Espanto on his 24th birthday last May 24. On Instagram Stories, Kim shared a couple of posts containing her “bestie tribute” to the birthday boy. She shared a video montage and a photo collage showing some of their heartwarming moments together. Kimmy also penned a sweet and hilarious message to her friend and fellow “It’s Showtime” host.

Kim Chiu turned emotional during the May 10 episode of It’s Showtime, as she opened up about her late mother in a personal and heartbreaking revelation. As the show touched on Mother’s Day, Kim recalled how her mother wasn’t the expressive type—rarely showing affection through hugs or kisses—but instead showed her love by giving gifts. However, what truly moved the audience was Kim’s painful admission about her childhood. The actress revealed how the absence of her mother left a void as well, “Every Mother’s Day, naiinggit ako sa mga taong may nanay. Kaya karamihan sa mga kaibigan ko, mga mommies sila.”
