Other new Switch 2 games include: “Donkey Kong Bananza” (July 17 release date), “Metroid Prime 4: Beyond,” and “Kirby Air Riders” (to be released before the end of the year).

Nintendo says that the Switch 2 can play compatible physical and digital games released on the Nintendo Switch system, but the Switch 2 system’s hardware is different, meaning that some Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. Most games, however, are backward compatible.

‘Just Dance,’ ‘Fall Guys,’ more Nintendo Switch games with backward compatibility issues on Switch 2

Most games created for the original Switch will be backward compatible. However, “Just Dance,” “Fall Guys” and the “Mega Man Legacy Collection” are some of the popular games with in-game compatibility issues. Several Arcade Archives games published by Hamster experience start up issues on Switch 2.
