Iloilo police seize P646,000 worth of shabu, arrest 2

THE Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo) apprehended two individuals and seized an estimated P646,000 worth of shabu in separate anti-drug operations in Passi City and Mina on May 28, 2025.

Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas, praised the units involved.

“We sincerely appreciate the strong support extended by the community and other law enforcement agencies. These accomplishments reflect our ongoing commitment to eradicating the drug menace,” he said.

Wanky said they will continue to strengthen their partnerships and intensify their campaign against illegal drugs.

The first operation was conducted at 5:33 p.m. by personnel of the Passi City Component City Police Station in Barangay Mulapula, Passi City.

Arrested was alias Nido, 58, married male suspect, and a resident of the said barangay. Police recovered around 15 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P102,000.

At 6:33 p.m., operatives from the Mina Municipal Police Station launched a buy-bust in Barangay Talibong Grande, Mina, Iloilo.

Arrested was alias Arlo, 29, a resident of the barangay. Confiscated from him were approximately 80 grams of shabu valued at P544,000.

The suspects are currently detained and will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Leo Solinap)
