– In a report by Sunstar Pampanga, which also shared the overhead view of the video of the accident, the driver allegedly claimed the car was on neutral with the handbrake disengaged

– Said driver claimed that because of this, the car suddenly backed out into the lines of people watching the parade

According to a report by Sunstar Pampanga, the town was celebrating its Makatapak Festival, with the dance parade among its events.

In a video shared by Sunstar, one can see the Makatapak Festival dance parade going smoothly with throngs of people watching the participants, when out of nowhere, an MPV-type vehicle burst through the crowd.

The video, which appeared to be taken from an elevated area, showed the vehicle barging through the lines of people watching the dance parade.

“Hindi naman nakainom ang driver. Magsusundo lang daw dapat ang driver ng isa sa mga participants. Hindi niya napansin na nakababa pala ang handbrake at nakaneutral daw ang sasakyan kaya umurong,” Sunstar Pampanga, quoting Bacolor Chief of Police Major Mark Anjo Ubaub, reported.

Authorities did not give details as to the exact number of victims, though assured the public there were no fatalities in the said incident.
