An apparent cat caretaker posted a viral video on TikTok of blonde tabby cat mom refusing to feed one of her dark-colored kittens – but all may not be what it seems.
The clip, which has gained more 14 million views, shows the caretaker attempting to show the kitten to the mother cat in a desperate attempt to get her to nurse the newborn.
The blonde cat, however, jumped up and backed away from the baby.

Many commenters hearts bled for the kitten: ‘Nooo I’m actually gonna cry stop,’ one replied.
‘I hope this is a joke I don’t want to cry in the train bro,’ wrote another.
Others pointed out the apparent mishandling of newborns, blaming the user for the mother’s rejection.
‘If your cat doesn’t fully trust you, you can’t touch the kittens for a while, otherwise this happens,’ wrote one.
Users noticed other videos on the creator’s profile of a different cat nursing an entire litter of dark-colored kittens
Keen eyes, however, pointed out that the blonde cat may not be the mother.
‘Guys this is actually a kitten from another cat if you watch the video before this,’ one user wrote, referring to a video featured on the creator’s profile, where a litter of dark-colored kittens were nursing from a partly shaved light colored cat.
The creator posted five more videos attempting to introduce the kitten to the blonde tabby, which is again shown backing away.
