How to Watch Today’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase and What to Expect • iPhone in Canada Blog

Nintendo is hosting a double-feature livestream today. A new Indie World presentation will kick off a 40-minute block, followed by a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. The live stream event begins today at 10 AM ET/7 AM PT.

Announced on X (formally Twitter), Nintendo revealed that the Indie World and Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase would be hosted back-to-back, a bit of an unprecedented move for the company. Typically, Nintendo will host one or the other intermittently throughout the year. With both on the calendar for one day, Nintendo looks to close out the summer in spectacular fashion.

Before any of us get ahead of ourselves, Nintendo has already confirmed that “there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during either of these presentations.” So, we’ll be left waiting a little while longer until we hear about the next piece of hardware from Nintendo.

So, with Switch 2 out, let’s take a quick look at what to expect later today. The Indie World presentation will appropriately only highlight new indie titles coming to the Nintendo Switch. The second portion, the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, will primarily focus on third-party games. So, it’s unlikely we’ll see anything to do with games like The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom or Metroid Prime 4. Of course, the internet always stirs up a buzz about whether the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong will make an appearance. It’s very unlikely as the last time we saw the game was in 2022 at the Xbox Games Showcase.

So, if you’re eager to check out what’ll surely be some great indies and third-party titles due to arrive on Nintendo Switch, stay tuned for the Indie World/Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase live stream on Nintendo’s YouTube channel this morning.
