Helping Hounds Dog Rescue hosts its 14 annual Pumpkins & Pooches fundraiser

SYRACUSE N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On Saturday, October 4 was Helping Hounds Dog Rescue’s 14 annual Pumpkins and Pooches fundraising event.

Helping Hounds Dog Rescue is making sure that Central New York canines have a happy howl-o-ween. It was a fun day at the family event where dogs dressed up in costumes, helping raise money for the pooches staying with helping hounds.

Helping Hounds Dog Rescue says its goal is to provide a compassionate approach to dog rescue by matching homeless dogs from overcrowded shelters with loving homes.

Besides the costume contest, attendees got to enjoy different vendors, food trucks, and raffles.

NewsChannel 9’s Christie Casciano and Kate Thornton got in on the fun as two celebrity judges for the contest.
