Genshin Impact PC Players Call for a Key Mobile Feature

Summary

  • Genshin Impact PC players want the ability to delete old resources to reduce the game’s massive 150GB file size.
  • By implementing a Quest Resource Management feature, PC users could potentially save at least 20GB of storage space.
  • The upcoming Genshin Impact update 6.0 will likely introduce the new region of Nod-Krai, expanding the playable area and file size.

Genshin Impact players are calling for the addition of a long-missing feature in the PC version, one that mobile players have had access to for quite some time. Known for its frequent updates, Genshin Impact regularly introduces new content, with each version arriving approximately every 42 days. These updates consistently bring new characters, weapons, regions, and various gameplay improvements.

The ongoing Genshin Impact update 5.6 introduced players to two new characters: the long-awaited Fontaine chef Escoffier and Natlan’s most famous Saurian veterinarian, better known as Ifa. However, while many fans appreciate the game’s ever-expanding content, one issue has become increasingly problematic.

Genshin Impact 5.8 May Add a New Character After All

A new Genshin Impact leak hints that Version 5.8 may introduce a surprise character, despite earlier claims of no new additions.

As the world of Genshin Impact continues to expand with each new update, the game’s overall file size keeps increasing, reaching over 150GB for some players. For years, the community has urged HoYoverse to implement solutions that would reduce this massive storage requirement. One Reddit user, FineAppointment8946, recently proposed a simple fix: allowing players to delete old resources tied to quests they’ve already completed. These resources include unique one-time cutscenes and quest files that are no longer relevant or replayable. Considering that Genshin Impact has been around since 2020, many players have accumulated tens, if not hundreds, of hours worth of unused data. One of the main complaints is that this feature already exists on the mobile version, and fans argue that implementing it on PC shouldn’t be too difficult.

Genshin Impact Fans Urge HoYoverse to Reduce PC File Size

In the Reddit thread, several replies pointed out that one way to reduce the Genshin Impact‘s file size is by deleting unused language packs. However, players estimate that introducing the Quest Resource Management feature on PC could potentially free up at least 20GB of storage space. With a major update on the horizon, it’s likely the file size will continue to balloon in the coming months.

HoYoverse has officially teased the arrival of a brand-new Genshin Impact region named Nod-Krai, which is expected to release at the end of August, assuming the developer follows its regular update schedule. This means that Genshin Impact 6.0 will likely introduce a massive new playable area, which will continue expanding in future patches.

Although HoYoverse has yet to provide detailed information about Nod-Krai, in-game lore places it north of the Mondstadt region. Recent leaks suggest that some of Genshin Impact‘s most anticipated characters may debut there. Amid all these exciting content additions, players are still hoping that HoYoverse will finally address the growing storage concerns in the near future.
