Genshin Impact Jumps Up iOS Chart

Genshin Impact has managed to improve its place in the revenue rankings, at least for iOS devices in Japan. Genshin Impact‘s gacha-based system allows players to pull for various characters and weapons for a limited period, which serves as HoYoverse’s main source of revenue.

Every limited character banner stays in the game for approximately 21 days until a new lineup of characters arrives. Genshin Impact updates are divided into two banner cycles, each offering two limited five-star characters and a decent four-star lineup that includes three playable units who share the same pity.

A Reddit user named Dramatic_endjingu has shared an interesting chart showing that Genshin Impact reclaimed first place for iOS devices in terms of revenue. This was also confirmed by other credible sources such as Sensor Tower, which currently ranks Genshin Impact as the top-grossing app in Japan. The game reclaiming the top spot does not come as a big surprise, considering that Version 5.2 arrived a couple of days ago and introduced a brand-new five-star character. Travelers can now pull for the new Geo user, Xilonen, who is considered by many to be one of the best Geo characters to arrive in Genshin Impact in recent times.

Genshin Impact Revenue Spikes With Xilonen’s Release

Unlike most Geo characters, Xilonen appears to be much more flexible, as she can adapt to many different team compositions. Xilonen is widely regarded as a slightly better version of Kazuha, one of the best supports in Genshin Impact. Xilonen can essentially buff all types of elemental damage that Kazuha can, plus Geo. In the long run, Xilonen will likely become the best support for duo-Geo parties, which have been gaining popularity recently.

HoYoverse’s approach to designing Xilonen is probably a step in the right direction regarding Geo characters. For a long time, Geo was considered the weakest element in Genshin Impact, since it can only trigger one elemental reaction, Crystallize. However, the last few Geo units that have arrived in Genshin Impact have made this element much more viable, as their kits have much better interactions with other elements.

According to the Reddit post, the last time Genshin Impact took first place was during Sigewinne’s release banner back in Genshin Impact Version 4.7. Sigewinne was paired with the fan-favorite Hydro Archon, Furina, who likely contributed to the banner’s overall revenue. One of the main reasons for Genshin Impact‘s revenue decrease during updates 4.8 and 5.0 is likely that players were saving their Primogems for the multiple Natlan characters that were announced.
