Garbo urges LGU workers to support new city leaders

Outgoing Mabalacat City Mayor Cris Garbo has urged employees of the local government unit (LGU) to support the administration of Mayor-elect Geld Aquino.

Garbo issued the statement during his first public appearance after the recent elections.

The mayor expressed gratitude and optimism to the people during the flag-raising ceremony held infront of the city hall on Monday, June 2.

Garbo emphasized the importance of unity and support for the incoming administration, led Aquino, Vice Mayor-elect Jun Castro and the newly elected councilors.

“I am very thankful to the Lord for giving me the opportunity to serve Mabalacat for the past 33 years,” Garbo said. “After two weeks of reflection, I believe it is time for me to close the curtain on my political career and dedicate more time to my family.”

Garbo thanked councilors Noel Castro and Timmy Dee, who were reelected as members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

He also acknowledged the contributions of his colleagues, including outgoing councilors Rox Peña, Carlo Dizon, Doc Cocoy Tiglao, and Jerry Magsino, who also shared parting words to the LGU employees during the ceremony.

Garbo urged city hall employees to give their full support to the new leadership, emphasizing that every leader has a vision and goal for the betterment of the city.

“Let us pray for our new leaders and support them wholeheartedly for the greater good of Mabalacat,” he added. “It is now their time to serve our constituents. We should stop politicking and start uniting for the development of our beloved city.”

Garbo told Mabalacat residents that he has done his part in public service for 3 decades and that it is time for the new administration to take the helm. “Support and respect are vital as we move forward.” (Mabalacat City News)
