Gabbi Garcia: Kapuso through and through

— Gabbi Garcia has proven to be a well-rounded Sparkle GMA artist who shows enthusiasm and dedication in every assignment that’s given to her. It’s not surprising that she remains visible and excels in her projects.

Gabbi displays acting chops as the strong-willed, driven girl boss A in the TV series “SLAY” and the gift of gab as a host-turned-house guest-turned-host again in the reality TV competition, “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.”

To take her showbiz career to new heights, Gabbi has recently renewed her contract as a GMA talent, saying, “I’ll forever be a proud, homegrown, loyal Kapuso. Maraming salamat po.”

What one could glean from the recent press conference was that it takes a network of people to jumpstart a career and manage it for the long haul. Any calling or pursuit commences with a belief in someone else’s potential.

“When I was younger, I often got rejected in auditions and VTRs,” Gabbi looked back on her humble beginnings in the local tinseltown during the contract signing event. “But GMA was one of the few ones (that) embraced me, that welcomed me and that accepted me and that saw something in me.”

“Tumaya sila sa akin (they took a chance on me) without even knowing what I had to offer,” added she. “And that was 11 years ago and cut to this day, GMA is my home. GMA is my second family.”

Gabbi has appeared in shows like “Encantadia,” “My Destiny,” “Beautiful Justice,” “Stories From the Heart: Love On Air,” “Mga Lihim ni Urduja” and “Unbreak My Heart.” She has also done variety and reality programs and films. Gabbi has proven her mettle in entertaining and engaging televiewers and hers is a success story.

The Sparkle GMA Artist Center star was a picture of happiness and gratefulness on the recent occasion that marked her continued collaboration with GMA.

“I did everything. I did acting, singing, endorsing, vlogging and now (I’m) hosting. Kahit kailan hindi ako pinabayaan ng GMA,” said she of how her network has helped her foray into varied areas of entertainment and nurtured her talents.

“In everything that I do, they support me, they collaborate with me. Thank you for giving me wings to fly and to do what I want to do. Thank you for giving me the dream of a lifetime. I’ll forever cherish it,” continued Gabbi, recognizing the hard work and commitment of people behind her career. They include the men and women of Sparkle Artist Center, whose relationship with her is beyond the artist-management one and described as “family”; the GMA bosses, who have stayed with her through ups and downs as she navigates show business; the marketing people; handlers; and everyone that she has worked with.

“I know we’re workmates but you’ve turned into a family throughout the years. I literally grew up here in GMA. I became an adult. I matured here. So, thank you, thank you for loving me for who I am. I value each and every one of you,” shared Gabbi, also thanking friends in the entertainment industry, the Team Gabbi and fans as well as boyfriend Khalil Ramos.

The good daughter that she is, Gabbi also took the time to honor her parents.

“Thank you for being there. Growing up, I had a lot of questions on how they raised me (and) on how strict they were, but only to find out in the end, I wouldn’t be the woman that I am today if it weren’t for them,” said she. “So, thank you and I honor you in every single way that I can.”

So, what’s next for the reliable Gabbi?

A previous article says that she has been tapped to reprise her Sangg’re Alena role in the soon-to-premiere “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.”

With the way things are going in her career, it’s good to see Gabbi again in another hosting assignment and a TV series aired on free TV and via a streaming platform.
