At the time, the First Lady and President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. were attending a ceremony commemorating the 107th birth anniversary of the latter’s father and namesake, the late former President Ferdinand Marcos, Sr.
In a video shared by GMA News, one can see PBBM and First Lady Liza smiling at everyone as they walked towards the area where a wreath-laying ceremony is supposed to take place.
Unfortunately, FL Liza perhaps didn’t notice that there is a section of the road where there is a sudden drop.

It was at this section that Mrs. Marcos tripped, almost causing her to fall had PBBM not catch her in time.
It wasn’t entirely clear if the accidental trip caused an injury, though in the video, FL Liza can be seen seemingly having difficulty walking.
Liza Araneta Marcos is the wife of Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. She currently holds the title of First Lady, being the wife of the President. First Lady Liza is also a lawyer and an academic.
It can be recalled that FL Liza also went viral in a video showing her drinking from the wineglass of Senate President Chiz Escudero in Malacañang during this year’s Independence Day celebration. FL Liza explained at the time that it was a joke between her and Sen. Pres. Escudero. On the part of Escudero, he said it’s his way of showing he’s a gentleman. The video elicited various reactions on social media.
In a separate statement, Sen. President Chiz explained that waiting on a lady, whatever her status in life, is a type of kindness and gentlemanly-like behavior. It can be recalled that in the viral video, one can see FL Liza returning a half-empty wine glass to Escudero after drinking from it.
