Want some free games? Then head right over to the Epic Games Store because the digital distribution platform is giving away free games to keep if you can claim them in time.

All Free Games on the Epic Games Store

Every week, the Epic Games Store gives away at least one free game. And we’re not talking about titles that didn’t sell or are infamously bad. The store has given away everything from little indie games to AAA titles, and all you need to claim them is a free Epic Games Store account. You don’t even have to download the launcher until you want to play them — you can claim them through their respective web pages.

So, what’s on offer right now? There are two games available on the Epic Games Store right now, which are as follows:

Football Manager 2024 – September 5 to September 12

Developer: Sports Interactive

Publisher: Sega

With Championship Manager out of the running, Football Manager is the premier (sorry) football sim for fans who want to manage but not play. Built your team, hire and fire coaches, use training to level your players up, and guide your team to the top of the league.

At least, that’s the theory; plenty of things can go wrong, and should you so choose, you can watch each nail-biting match take place. And while Football Manager 2025 is in the works, it’s unlikely to be out by the time this freebie ends. So, if you have the slightest interest in the beautiful game, grabbing this is a no-brainer.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts – September 5 to September 12

Developer: Underdog Studio

Publisher: CI Games

While the Sniper Elite series has stepped back in time to WWII, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts‘ long-distance slaughter takes place in the present day. KC Nwosu had good things to say about it in our review, praising the way it borrows from Hitman, chunking levels into smaller sandboxes versus taking place in one open world. The game has been generally well-received on Steam, though some aren’t taken by its story.

So, what else is on the way? There are two new games dropping next week, including a survival horror surprise. Here’s what’s on offer from September 12th.

Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland – September 5 to September 12

Developer: The MIX Games, Wallride

Publisher: The MIX Games

Rugrats are a mixed bag; chances are you’ve seen a few languishing in your local second-hand store’s bargain bin. But Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland looks as if it could be really rather good. Based on the classic cartoon (there was a reboot but it got yanked by Paramount), it’s a platformer that emulates the style of 8-bit platformers, letting you switch between 8-bit mode and full-on HD.

Even better, it’ll be completely free to anyone with an Epic Game Store account, for a week at least. So, whether you’re a fan of the show or not, it should be worth claiming. And if you can’t wait till September 12th, you can download a demo from Steam.

Super Crazy Rhythm Castle

Developer: Second Impact Games

Publisher: Konami

Super Crazy Rhythm Castle is a whacky co-op rhythm adventure that launched on Steam last year to reasonable acclaim. You can play it solo but most people who’ve got their hands on it say it’s best enjoyed with friends. And while you can play it online, there’s also a split-screen mode for sofa-based shenanigans. It sounds like a fun party game.

However, its Steam reviews have dropped to Mixed, with some players complaining it auto-installs the Epic Games Store, meaning they’re juggling the Steam launcher and the Epic Games Store launcher. This, in turn, seems to have resulted in some connection issues. Hopefully, that won’t be a problem when you’re just running it through the EGS launcher.

How To Get Free Games from the Epic Games Store

If you want to claim these free games or any of the other free games on offer, it’s a pretty simple process. Here’s how to go about it.

1. First, create an Epic Games Store account if you’ve not already got one. You can do that on the Epic Games Store website or by downloading the Epic Games Store launcher from the site.
2. Now go to the web store or launcher and go down to Free Games.
3. Click on the game you want, and you should see a big blue button that says Get. If it says Buy Now, you’re on the wrong page or too late or too early for the giveaway.
4. Click on Get, go through with the checkout (you won’t be charged), and the game is yours to keep.

You’ll have to install the EGS launcher to play them, but you can happily claim them without the launcher and install the launcher later if you go via the EGS web store.
