Epic Games’ RealityCapture Gets New Name
The State of Unreal 2025 has just ended, showcasing Epic Games’ latest innovations, including a first tech demo of The Witcher 4 and the release of Unreal Engine 5.6, featuring major MetaHuman updates and more.
It was also announced that the photogrammetry software RealityCapture will be rebranded as RealityScan, set to unify both the desktop and mobile versions under the new name. New features in RealityScan 2.0 include improved image alignment, AI-powered masking to automatically remove backgrounds, support for airborne laser scans, and a new tool that highlights incomplete areas in scans. Apparently, CD Projekt Red used RealityScan to capture high-fidelity natural assets for The Witcher 4 tech demo.
As for the release, RealityScan 2.0 is expected to launch in the “coming weeks.” Stay tuned and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our new Discord server, follow us on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Telegram, TikTok, and Threads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
