Epic Games could recreate the Godzilla Golden Gate scene in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1

Epic Games had announced that Godzilla would be part of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1. This kaiju has been featured in other battle royales, such as Call of Duty. Thus, news of the collaboration has been met with much anticipation. Sadly, while Godzilla will be part of this phase of the storyline, no one knows how, where, or when the creature will set foot on the island.

This is based on earlier leaks that indicated Godzilla and King Kong could have a showdown on the island towards the end of the storyline. On that note, Epic Games has started dropping hints about this. If things pan out as expected, we could see the Shining Span (bridge) Named Location in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 be ripped in half.

Note: The article is based on speculation and should be taken with a smidgen of salt (or pepper; whatever tickles your fancy).

Godzilla could break the Shining Span bridge in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1

Not long ago, the official Fortnite ANZ account posted a teaser on X. The intention was to highlight a Named Location called Shining Span. This POI is a bridge located on the eastern edge of the island. It allows easy access across the bay, which houses the Seaport City Named Location.

It’s not the only means to access the other side of the island, but given the overarching Japanese theme, it fits well into the setting. Coming back to the post, a picture of this POI was posted with a caption that reads:

“What if we met at the top of Shining Span and held hands? πŸ₯ΊπŸ‘‰πŸ‘ˆ”

Given that Epic Games uses internet-friendly language or meme references to interact with its audience, this post does not explain much. However, after @RealLoadAlbum, replied to this with a picture of Godzilla alongside the POI and wrote, “What if,” Fortnite ANZ stated:

Another user @Oskye_Estival, commented under the post:

“Until a giant lizard arrives and destroys everything.”

To this, Fortnite ANZ replied using the side-eye emoji. Given what it stands for, it’s very likely that Epic Games plans to recreate the Godzilla Golden Gate scene in-game.

To add some context, in Godzilla (2014), the kaiju swam up to the Golden Gate Bridge and attacked it. After the battle that ensued, the creature ripped through the bridge and sliced it in half. The same could happen in Chapter 6 Season 1. Fortnite leaker/data miner @Loolo_WRLD also shared a post, stating that this is a possibility that could occur.

When could Godzilla destroy the Shining Span POI in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1?

There’s no timeline in place, and in fact, the entire series that could lead to the destruction of the POI is based on hints/teasers. However, taking into consideration that the next update (v33.20) will be on January 14, 2025, if Godzilla is slated to destroy the POI, things will be set in motion once downtime ends.

The only thing that can be said with absolution is that Fortnite Festival Season 7 will introduce Local Multiplayer. So if Godzilla doesn’t rise out of the water to destroy the POI and wreak havoc on the island, at least you will be able to play some amazing Jam Tracks with your friends.
