Elden Ring Nightreign Release Schedule Sparks Gamers Timezone Debates

FromSoftware has released the full development and release schedule for ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN, and the gaming community began throwing cheers, complaints, and the usual timezone math confusions. The ominous tweet that warned players to “make your preparations, Nightfarers,” now has over 30k likes, proving once again that Souls fans just will not stop whining about wanting more.

Why is this a big deal? Well, that schedule lists staggered release times across the different regions, PCs gain first-to-play favor, while the consoles are left wrangling for a few more hours.

Collector’s Edition buyers also don’t look too pleased. @halfsaintgael ranted about the $200 she had to pay for the waiting for the physical code in the mail, sparking the conflicting debate of whether the CE actually has a physical copy or it is just a download. @ItsPaxtonnnn recalled the Shadow of the Erdtree CE arriving early last time, so that others could heal from a little bit of heartache.

Crossplay demands came immediately (as always): @PHFerrari8 was blunt, “A game like this demands cross play,” while @raindeer771 asked, “Why no cross play again?” That’ll probably remain unanswered, at least until Bandai Namco perhaps issues that vague response in six months.

That brings up the whole anti-cheat conversation. @ArcedPendulum reminded everyone that the PC version still has kernel anti-cheat running, and now they’re still mostly getting arguments, all very much controversial, months on.

In the past, Apocalpyse would have never had a chance to sell in New York, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Cairo, Paris, Rio, Los Angeles, London, Hong Kong, etc., and now, @MuffinSadistic has jumped to thanks the devs for including South Africa while the Arabic cluster of players, @YS_160 and @i_stannis, had some fun banter behind the gameplay. These external dramas were only further flavored on gaming Twitter when @solanaphile told people to skip MSK time display as they “are a terrorist state.”

Server anxiety from FromSoftware is waking once again, with @adum_g praying that they won’t be “cooked on launch” – as old as Souls games themselves. This is perhaps the most mutually agreed-upon sentiment across the whole thread, with how rather rocky the history of Elden Ring and how it was launched.

The FromSoftware release schedule confirmation has certainly set the stage for another messy launch week. Between timezone math, platform wars, collector’s edition woes, and inevitable day-one server crashes, the NIGHTREIGN expansion looks to be even more memorable, for better or worse, than the base game launch. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to explain to my boss why I am suddenly “sick” on the 30th of May.
