A dormitory caretaker in Aklan was arrested in Bacolor, Pampanga after being accused of r@ping a 19-year-old female college student tenant.

According to a report by Emil Sumangil on “24 Oras” Thursday, the incident occurred inside the dormitory where the suspect was entrusted with managing accommodations for student renters.

Authorities said the suspect fled following the accusation and went into hiding until he was tracked down and arrested.

“Alam natin mag-e-eleksyon, at siguro hindi niya inakala… busy ang kapulisan… na hindi na malalaman yung kaniyang kaso,” said Police Brigadier General Jonathan Cabal, Director of the PNP Maritime Group.

The suspect, however, denied forcing the victim, claiming the act was consensual.

“Natukso lang kami nung gabi na ‘yun,” he said, expressing hope that the case could be settled due to his family responsibilities.

“Umaasa siyang maareglo na lang ang kaso niya dahil mayroon umano siyang pamilya,” the report stated.

The victim has not issued any statement regarding the incident.

As a precaution, Gen. Cabal gave advice to dormitory renters, especially students, to remain vigilant.

“Maging aware sila sa surroundings nila… Dapat, kilalanin nila… dapat marunong silang kumilatis ng isang tao, at the same time, ‘wag silang magtitiwala ng todo-todo.”

The case continues to undergo investigation as authorities aim to ensure that justice is served and safety is reinforced in student housing facilities.

Rensales, a stroke survivor, felt dizzy and collapsed shortly after casting his vote at Oas South Central Elementary School, ABS-CBN reported. His wife shared that he insisted on voting despite the heat and early crowd, believing his vote still mattered. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
