– This was according to Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla following the announcement that Guo would be running again

– Remulla also added that Guo’s candidacy wasn’t within her rights since she was facing issues against the legitimacy of her citizenship

– Additionally, the dismissed mayor of Bamban was also recently put on the hot seat when international news channel Al Jazeera released a video indicating Guo was a Chinese spy

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla released a statement following Stephen David’s, Guo’s legal counsel, announcement that Guo would soon file her COC for reelection.

“We’ll cross the bridge when we get there. Why not? We may oppose, might as well oppose,” Remulla said when asked if they would block Guo’s candidacy.

He also believes that it wasn’t within Guo’s rights to run.

Alice Leal Guo was the Mayor of the Municipality of Bamban, Tarlac, and was eventually dismissed. She won as mayor during the national elections in 2022. She became known nationwide after her name was dragged into the ongoing Senate investigations regarding Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) and the alleged proliferation of illegal immigrants. Her name has been the subject of many online memes since then.

In a previous report by KAMI, Alice Guo will be running for a position in the 2025 elections. This was revealed by her lawyer, Atty. Stephen David in GMA’s report. According to the dismissed Bamban mayor’s counsel, she will be filing her COC next week. She will be seeking a reelection in Bamban, Tarlac.
