Dog Found Abandoned Inside Trash Can in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A Syracuse man has been arrested after police say he abandoned a dog inside a trash can on Burnet Avenue on Tuesday.

According to the Syracuse Police Department, Animal Cruelty Officers responded to a complaint around 4:45 p.m. and discovered a poodle mix inside a plastic bag that had been placed in a trash can. The dog was transported to a local veterinary hospital and is expected to fully recover from its injuries.

Following an investigation, police arrested 58-year-old Anthony Munford in connection with the incident. Munford has been charged with one count of abandonment of an animal and four counts of animal cruelty, all misdemeanors.

    NEW YORK — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two individuals wanted in connection with a robbery in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood on Friday.

    The incident occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. outside 222 West 23rd Street, within the confines of the 10th Precinct. According to police reports, a 22-year-old male victim was approached by two unidentified individuals on a moped.

    The suspects displayed knives and forcibly removed the victim’s necklace, valued at approximately $1,100, before fleeing eastbound on 23rd Street.

    The victim was transported by EMS to a nearby hospital in stable condition after sustaining minor injuries during the robbery.

    The NYPD has released images of the suspects and is urging anyone with information to come forward.

  • $200,000 Philadelphia Handbag Heist Crew Caught on Video

    Philadelphia, PA — The Central Detective Division is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying four suspects involved in a commercial burglary at LXY Philadelphia Boutique. The incident occurred on September 24, 2024, at approximately 3:07 a.m., when the suspects forced entry into the boutique located at 729 Sansom Street.

    The suspects used a power tool to cut one of the bars on the front gate, lifted the gate, and shattered the bottom of the two front doors to gain access. Once inside, they stole numerous handbags valued at approximately $200,000. The suspects were last seen fleeing east on Sansom Street in a late-model, dark-colored Jeep with tinted windows, a sunroof, dark wheels, and possibly a paper tag.

    The suspects are described as follows:

    • Suspect #1: Male, unknown race, wearing a light-colored “Nike” hooded sweatshirt with a “USA” graphic, dark pants, and two-tone “Nike” sneakers.
    • Suspect #2: Male, unknown race, wearing a dark “Nike” hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and dark sneakers.
    • Suspect #3: Male, unknown race, wearing a dark “Adidas” hooded jacket, dark pants, glasses, and black-and-white striped sneakers.
    • Suspect #4: Male, unknown race, with braided hair, wearing all dark clothing.
