Dani Zam Traverses Through Chapters of Love in ‘Curfew’ Ep

Up-and-coming singer-songwriter Dani Zam takes on an introspective look towards dealing with love in her extended play (EP) “curfew.”

The six-track EP tackles the idea of spending too much time processing one’s emotions despite attempts to control them. “When we police ourselves from feeling a specific thing for too long whatever emotion that is and you just want to guard yourself from all those big emotions that you might not be ready to face,” Dani said.

She composed all of the tracks in “curfew” including the key track “moon,” where Dani sees her loved one as a light amidst the darkness that pulls her through falling in love. Other songs in the mini album include “beso,” “love u better,” “hilo,” “ever,” and “bye bye na.”

As a self-taught guitar player and producer, she takes influences from jazz, hiphop, R&B, and classical music. She also looks up to music icons such as Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, and JoJo. Dani made her debut as a recording artist following the release of her first EP “EDEN” in 2021 which features the tracks “Say It” and “Made of Love.”

Last year, she launched her first single with Tarsier Records “beso,” which earned over 450,000 streams on Spotify. Leading up to “curfew,” she also released two singles “hilo” and “ever” with the latter being featured on various editorial playlists such as Spotify’s Pinas Vibes and EQUAL Philippines.
