THE Davao City Health Office, through its Population Division, is again urging Dabawenyos who no longer wish to have more children to avail of its free No-Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV) service.
NSV is one of the permanent family planning methods that the Population Division offers to Dabawenyos.
Every last Friday of the month, the Population Division schedules a free vasectomy service at the Buhangin Vasectomy Center.
For June, free NSV is scheduled on June 27.
NSV is a non-invasive procedure that lasts for 10–15 minutes and requires minimal aftercare.
This family planning method also poses fewer risks compared to bilateral tubal Ligation (BTL) and has a 99.85 percent effectiveness rate.
There are also temporary family planning methods offered by the CHO to the public. These are available at their district health centers. Dabawenyos only has to approach personnel from the CHO’s population division to further discuss the details of these family planning methods.
