Chavit Singson pays visit to Carlos Yulo’s family as ‘catalyst of love and forgiveness’ with P1M gift

Businessman-politician Chavit Singson is calling for renewed ties between double Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo and his family ahead of the holiday season. 

According to several reports, Singson visited the Yulo family, bringing a P1 million “pre-Yuletide present” in expressing his desire to help them rebuild their family bond.

Singson shared that he hopes to act as a “catalyst of love and forgiveness” for the Yulos, stating that no achievement should take precedence over family unity. 

“No amount of success should overshadow one’s love and respect for his family. Forgiveness, understanding, and compassion should always prevail among members of Filipino families,” he said in a statement as quoted by Philstar.com in its report.

With the Christmas season approaching, Singson added that Filipinos are hoping for the Yulos to grant a gift more valuable than gold—reconciliation, and harmony within the family. 

“And with the most wonderful time of the year fast approaching, Filipinos are praying for the Yulos to hand them a gift that’s more precious than gold – the gift of unity in the family,” he added.

This recent visit follows an earlier pledge by Singson last August to give a P5-million reward to Yulo as “recognition for his exemplary performance in the Paris Olympics” and as an urge to unite him, his partner Chloe San Jose, and his family.

In presenting the said reward, Singson proposed at the time that it “shall be accepted by the Yulo family and Carlos’ partner as a united front.”
