Beer enthusiasts and animal lovers unite for Riverbanks Brew at the Zoo
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The Riverbanks Zoo is gearing up to host in 19th annual Brew at the Zoo event on Friday, August 2.
The event takes place from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., bringing out more than 40 brewers from across the state and giving guests a chance to see the zoo outside of its regular hours.
Amanda Sciora, Events and Marketing Specialist, spoke with WIS News 10′s Jordyn Markhoff about how this event supports the care and conservation of animals at Riverbanks.
The event also features several live performances!
Jordyn Markhoff spoke with band members Jessica Skinner and Jeff Pitts with “Prettier Than Matt,” who are headlining the event this year, and got a sneak peek of their performance.
With the event happening in the evening, guests will get the chance to see nocturnal animals they wouldn’t see during normal business hours at the zoo.
WIS spoke with Alyson Proveaux, curator of mammals, who explained which animal exhibits come to life at night.
