CINCINNATI, Ohio — If you’re a Cincinnati sports fan who spent the weekend under a rock, you missed the most exciting play(s) in a long while when rookie phenom Elly De La Cruz stole second and third base, before nabbing home too.

De La Cruz is a 21-year-old who has brought a new spark to a team that had been lacking in game-changing talent. They have a player who has batted.325 with four homers, nine doubles, and 41 hits over 126 games. He has not made a single error on the field, and has stolen sixteen bases.

Not too bad

De La Cruz, the game’s newest and most exciting player, is a great match-up with Burrow.

Depending on where Anaheim falls in the Los Angeles definition or if it does, Shohei Ahtani and LeBron or Aaron Donald will likely be at the top in the hierarchy of sports’ most exciting duos. Ohtani, the current best baseball player, is also arguably the greatest basketball player in history.

Other than Los Angeles, there’s not much else to consider. Bryce Harper in Philadelphia and Joel Embiid are both on the list, as well as Nikola Jokic in Denver and Nathan MacKinnon and T.J. Watt in Pittsburgh. De La Cruz & Burrow are a unique duo that is hard to find in other cities.

No one could have predicted that Cincinnati would be home to two of the biggest names in sports just a few short years ago.
